My Funny Valentine - Level 4 (SSAA with Rhythm Section)
This classic jazz standard “My Funny Valentine” pays tribute to the great tradition of vocal jazz soloists like Sarah Vaughan and Chet Baker by featuring up to five separate melodic solos throughout the piece, as well as a possible improvisation section of 16 measures to be split up among instrumental soloists (or vocalists if you prefer, but probably not desirable in most cases!). Treble ensemble vocals mostly fill the role of background vocalists with the exception of a rubato a cappella bridge section after solos, but splits into four parts much of the time for a lush and rich sound from your singers.
